Armando P. Avila of Sonora was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 6, 2020.
Armando was born December 22, 1938 to Prajediz and Carmen Avila. He was the eldest of eight children.
In 1957, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. In December of 1957 he married the love of his life Socorro Virgen. They spent many years in San Jose, California, then returned home to Sonora where he established Avila Sprinklers.
Armando could be seen all around town and surrounding communities installing or preparing residential and commercial sprinkler systems. He worked tirelessly up until he was diagnosed with dementia in 2018.
Armando is preceded i death by his parents, son Armando Avila, Jr and grandson Daniel Nicar.
Armando will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Socorro V. Avila and their children Cynthia Messman, Frank Avila (Yolanda), Henry V. Avila, Corie Huichapa (Rocky) and Mario Avila (Toni).
Armando is survived by his siblings Ismael Avila, Prajediz Avila, Jr, Hector Avila, Mario Avila, Tina Ortega, Irma Mata and Elizabeth Chavez.
Grandpa/Pa will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Robert, Brittney and Andrea. Great grandchildren Jaden, Heaven. Mario, Hazel, Brisais, Gilbert, Angel, JuliAnna, Mikey Owen, and Ivan.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, August 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Ann Catholic Church with Rev. Felix Archibong officiating.
