Beverly Manilla Howard
October 2, 1932 – January 8, 2022
Monday, January 10, 2022 4:43 PM
Beverly Manilla Howard, age 89, went to be with her heavenly father on January 8, 2022.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Sonora Cemetery.
Beverly was born in Brady, Texas, on October 2, 1932 to George E. (Bud) and Gretta Cawyer Smith and is preceded in death by her parents.
Beverly was married to the love of her life, Charles Howard, for 63 years and who preceded her in death. After marrying Charles, Beverly helped build a foundation for their lives to include helping to run their company for 25 years while also raising two children.
Beverly was known for her warm heart, generosity, fun nature, and never met a stranger. Beverly’s smile could often be found at the Senior Center in Sonora or at the Church of Christ.
Beverly was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and loved the Lord. Beverly expressed her love through wonderful foods such as her infamous pecan pie and was often in her kitchen cooking for her family and others in need or teaching her granddaughters. Beverly was also a skilled artist and enjoyed painting.
An avid fisherman, Beverly usually outfished everyone in the boat. Beverly was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was always there and always supportive and loving.
Beverly is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Robert Hard of Sonora, son Curtis Howard of Palms Springs, California; brother and sister-in-law Eddie and Venetta Smith of Sonora, brother-in-law and wife Dale and Cindy Howard of San Antonio, and nieces and nephews.
Beverly was also a very proud grandmother to two granddaughters, Stephanie Hard of San Angelo and Kara Badeaux with husband Zach Badeaux of Sonora, and two great granddaughters, Brystol and Kydee Badeaux.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest passion was caring for others. This is only goodbye for now, Nana.
