The Sonora Broncos varsity football season kicks off this Friday night at 7 PM on the road against the 3A Div 2 Ballinger Bearcats. Last year Sonora defeated the Bearcats (1-9 in 2022) in the home opener 29-7.

The Texas Water Safari, known as the "World's Toughest Canoe Race," consists of a series of events, including an informational seminar, two short races, and the main 260-mile race from the headwaters of the San Marcos River to Seadrift.

The boys' golf team from Sonora demonstrated their athletic prowess in the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) 2A State Championship. Held on May 22-23 at the historic Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin, this event brought together top golfers from across the state.

The Sonora Bronco baseball team, seeded fourth in District 28-2A, will compete against the Thorndale Bulldogs, the top seed in District 27-2A, in a three-game series starting on Thursday, May 4th in Llano.

Bronco and Lady Bronco track finalist traveled to Canyon last week in hopes of staying in the race to State. Unfortunately the Lady Bronco season comes to an end while the boys 4x400 team will compete at the next level. The following was submitted by Coaches Tiffany Weston and Eddie Favila.

The dynamic duo place third at State Tennis Tournament.

The Broncos showed up to the Texas 2A Region 1 UIL Golf Tournament in Canyon, TX with one goal and one goal only and that was to punch their ticket to the State Golf Tournament in Austin.

Cason Griffith didn't feel much like getting out on Tuesday, tallying five hits and leading Sonora to a 19-8 win over San Saba Monday night in San Saba.

Lady Bronco Golf Team is State bound. The team of Annika Galindo, Madison Galindo, Rylie Thorp, Koda Davis, and Jolene Pasillas traveled to Canyon on April 17th and 18th to compete in the Texas 2A Region 1 Golf Tournament.

Broncos Knock off Eagles on Martinez's Walk-off Single In what has to be one of the wildest games of the season, Friday, March 24, 2023, the Broncos staved off an 11-run 3rd inning by Junction to win in extra innings off of Jacob Martinez's walk-off single in the bottom of the 8th!

Sonora boys competed in the State Powerlifting meet in Abilene Saturday, March 25th.

No rest for the athletes during Spring Break.

Track season kicked off at home this past week as middle school and high school athletes took turns competing on Thursday, February 23rd and Saturday February 25, 2023.
