Antonia "Tonie" Vara, 62, passed away peacefully on the 24th of July at her Sonora home. Her family was by her side.
Tonie was born April 20th 1954 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus and Victoria (Rivas) Capuchina.
She was a person whom devoted all her time to anyone in need. With an open heart and open arms she was a blessing to all who knew her.
Most will vouch for her strong belief in values and her moral conviction, putting God and family before all else, having made her a incredible role model to all.
Tonie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Tonie is survived by her husband of 42 years Gilberto G. Vara Sr. and her three children. Sons Gilberto C. Vara Jr. and spouse, Christina and children, Jasmine and Amaya Vara; Daniel C. Vara and child, Kashton Vara. She is also survived by daughter, Victoria V. Presas and spouse Bryan and children, Areanna and Breanna Presas.
Also, she is survived by three brothers, two sisters and thirteen nieces and nephews.
A special remembrance for family and friends will be held at Kerbow Funeral Home, Sonora.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28th, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Sonora. Burial will follow at the Sonora Cemetery and a reception will be held at St. Ann's Parish Hall.
