Carolyn Ann Sorenson, 71, returned to her heavenly home unexpectedly on March 21, 2016 in Irving TX.

She was diagnosed with COPD shortly after she retired but was determined not to let the disease rob her of her joy or control her life.

Carolyn was born on December 18, 1944 in Stamford, TX to D.E. and Edith M. Livengood.

She was the oldest of four kids and never lost her love of being the boss. Carolyn graduated as salutatorian from Paint Creek High School where her first love was basketball. She was offered a scholarship to play at Mary Hardin Baylor, but she chose marriage and kids.

She was an independent, loving mother who sacrificed her life for her children.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren- Nathan, Emily, Cooper, Wesley, Rachel and Lanie.

Carolyn loved the lake, especially fishing. Her later years were spent traveling with her beloved sisters.

She loved watching all sports, especially if they involved her grandchildren.

Carolyn was our family’s biggest fan and we could always depend on her for anything.

She loved life and was always happy and positive and never lacked for an opinion.

We all loved her dearly and our loss is heavens gain.

Until we see her again, we will celebrate all that she was and all that she meant to us.

Carolyn is survived by her children and their spouses: Dr. Marney & Paula Sorenson; and Carrie & Todd Rodgers.

She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Melanie & Dennis Rueffer; Don & Teresa Livengood and brother in law, John Mack.

As well, she is survived by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Mack.

A memorial and celebration of life service will be held on April 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Cross Timbers Community Church in Argyle, TX.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association.

All arrangements are being handled by Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving TX.
