Guadalupe N. Jimenez answered God’s call for peace and rest in Him surrounded by family, October 24, 2017, on the anniversary of her son Ernesto’s passing.

Guadalupe was born on August 8, 1926 in Del Rio, Texas to Jesus and Maria Noriega.

She led a full and happy life, full of adventure.

She was held by her family to be a person of strength, who served in so many roles.

Guadalupe was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and so much more.

She was our “Lupe,” our “Lupita,” our “Lupa,” our “Ama,” our “Cuata,” our “Chata.”

Guadalupe is preceded in death by her husband of more than 56 years, Guadalupe F. Jimenez.

She is also preceded in death by her son, Ernesto “Neto” Jimenez, and her eight siblings, including her twin brother, Jesus Noriega. She is the last of her siblings to join our heavenly host.

She leaves behind her children and their spouses, Juan L. & Joyce Jimenez, Oscar & Olinda Jimenez, Emma & Harvey Sepeda, and the widow of her late son Neto, Mary Lou Creek.

She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Jerry & Nancy Jimenez, Dorothy Jimenez, Fernando & Ursula Jimenez, Standley & Melissa Anderson, Javiel Jimenez, Oscar Jimenez, Jr., Elaine & Cesar Mejia, Mayra & Christopher Page, and Bianca Sepeda.

The other lives forever changed will be those of the great grandchildren, who include Marco Jimenez, Davis Jimenez, J.R. Perez, Will Anderson, Sidney Anderson, Allison Mejia, Abigail Mejia, Isabella Mejia, Jesus Adare Jimenez, Juan Miguel Jimenez, Danica Jimenez, and Amaris Jimenez.

The family would like to take a moment to thank the wonderful work of all the employees at the Schleicher County Nursing Home.

The nurses, aides, housekeeping department, administration staff, and the Hospice nursing staff all made Lupe’s last days comfortable and peaceful, both for her and her family.

Your efforts did not go unnoticed, and they are greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who consoled or prayed with Lupe and her family in this time of letting go.

A special thanks to all family members who shared stories with Lupe on her front porch.  It is there that we will miss her the most.

Services in celebration of Lupe’s life were held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Sonora, Texas.

A graveside service followed the mass.
