Nell peacefully left this earthly life on Monday, February 8, 2016.

She was born March 16, 1926 on her family ranch in Sterling County, the seventh of 10 children to Herbert Moss & Elva Henry Mills.

She lived there on that ranch until the age of 16 when the family moved to Brewster County.

She married Eugene Trainer Wallace on June 10, 1947 in Alpine where they had Big Bend Feed Company before moving to Gene’s family ranch in Sutton County and forming the Libb Wallace & Son Hereford Ranch.

There she worked side by side with her husband and parents- in-law, Libb & Evelyn Wallace to raise quality registered Hereford cattle.

She was well known by family & friends for her skills in the kitchen, especially her pound cakes, potato cakes and her biscuits.

She had a beautiful voice and loved singing in the Methodist Church choir, but loved nothing better than going dancing.

Even as her body aged and would no longer allow her to dance, she could not keep her feet from tapping to the beat of the music.

She loved history and spent endless hours walking over the ranch in search of arrowheads.

After Gene’s passing she began to deliver meals to the elderly for the Sonora Senior Center and continued that service for 20 years.

She belonged to many different organizations through the years and served each and every one of these organizations with hard work and leadership.

She was awarded the Silver Spur for being the Outstanding Sutton County 4-H Adult Leader and was awarded Sonora’s Citizen of the Year by Sonora Chamber of Commerce.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Wallace ;her precious grandson, Libb Wallace; her parents, her parents-in-law, all five of her brothers, Herb, Ott, Woody, George & Billy Mills; three of her sisters, Sis Roark, Allene Rogers, & Betty Bach; one nephew, Lou Rogers & one niece, Carol Dacus; sisters-in-law, Libbye Young, Joyce Palm, Jane Mills, & Eva Jeanne Mills; brothers-in-law, Leroy Roark, Shelly Lowe, & Dub Wallace.
