Stanley Tommie James of Eldorado, Texas was born into Life on April 11, 1941, in McCamey, Texas to parents Jimmie Tommie James and Edith Faught James. On May 1, 2023, he was born into Eternal Life at the age of 82, with his wife of 43 years Clara James by his side.
Growing up in Rankin, Texas Stanley attended Rankin High School. He later attended Sul Ross State College graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife. Also surviving are his daughter Jennifer Galindo and son Chris Penney; his grandchildren: Sierra Samaniego, Ivan Galindo, Sephian Penney; siblings: Judy Jones (Jerry), Jimmie “Dod” James (Roberta), Linda Wallace (Libb); his uncle John Faught, nieces, nephews, and too many cousins to name.
Active pallbearers will be Charles Barber, Carl Bowers, Charlie Brown, Red Griffin, Scott Neff and Joe Schaefer. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Butch and Zeke Gamez.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Hospice of San Angelo and the Shannon Hospital 6th floor nursing staff for care during the last week of our “precious” Stanley’s earthly life.
Visitation was held Sunday May 7, 2023, at Love Funeral Home, 409 SE Second St., Sonora, Tx. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with family being present from 4 to 6 p.m. A celebration of life was held Monday, May 8, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Brushy Top Cowboy Church, 5424 S Hwy 277, Eldorado, Texas with Pastor Daniel Thiebaud officiating. Burial will follow at the Sonora Cemetery.
